The plague stampeded into House Crunch and basically squashed everyone flat. Tara was the first fall, and we all consider her patient zero, though I had already suffered a horrid flu a couple of weeks earlier. SHE brought the cough…..the hacking cough and fever that would NOT go away. Dad and older brother quickly succumbed. I got the cough too, but with nobody to cover me at work, had to suffer through a week of misery. We are all still crawling our way up out of the morass of illness here, but the ONE thing that brought a smile and a little light all our recoveries was Netflix.
As you can see under all that stuff is Tara’s iPad. SHE already knew about and loved the Ever After High animated series on Netflix. Her big sister has quite a collection of Monster High doll’s and Tara has been looking for something that she could call her own ‘thing,’ and had been learning all she could about the cast of Ever After High all by herself.
So now, as well as avidly watching the show and knowing all the names of the characters, we have had HOURS of play with her new “collection.” I have heard magic spells being cast upon other dolls, discussions about who gets to hang out with who, and who is the meanest one of all. The imagination never ends.
Tara has not been the only one to seek and receive refuge from the daily grind of cough, work, cough, clean and repeat. Have YOU seen any episodes of the new original Netflix show DareDevil? It is amazing. The fight choreography is great, strong cast and while I was never a big fan of the comic, my in house expert states it is in keeping with the comic book origins and characters so far.
The season one of The Red Road with Jason Momoa is also very good. Dark and a gripping storyline full of characters hiding many skeletons in closets as is the other new Netflix original show Bloodline. Now if only season three of Homeland would turn up on there, I would truly be a happy camper!
