Don’t all faint upon reading a post about HOCKEY on my site, despite being quoted years ago about my lack of bandwagon jumping when it came to playoff games, we do enjoy the occasional game here at House Crunch. The sports bug became firmly cemented in this family thanks to the Olympics and then I found my daughter playing NHL14 on the Xbox the other day. So. Do not be shocked by my promotion of the game this Sunday between the Ottawa Senators and the Vancouver Canucks, otherwise known as the Heritage Classic.
There isn’t another store in Canada that represents or supports the Canadian ‘lifestyle’ more than Canadian Tire. From backyard rinks to world-class arenas, no other retailer gets hockey like Canadian Tire and so it makes perfect sense that they are a title sponsor for the NHL Heritage Classic Spectator Plaza where among many other activities prior to the game at 1 pm, you can watch professional ice sculptors build hockey creations, check out a custom wall of ice, play real table-top-style ICE hockey and challenge yourself in the Canadian Tire Money Machine!
But they are doing more to get you in the spirit of all things hockey.
On Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Robson Square – roughly 400 hockey sticks will be given out by Canadian Tire staff.
On Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. the Cambie Canadian Tire, is hosting an NHL alumni meet-and-greet. There will also be tons of games, giveaways and prizes to be won including Canadian Tire gift cards, Mastercraft giveaways and Heritage Classic tickets! Head over to the Cambie Canadian Tire on 2290 Cambie Street at 11:30 a.m. Saturday for your chance to meet Trevor Linden, Cliff Ronning and Geoff Courntall, with a ton of giveaways and prizes to be won.
And don’t forget the game starts on Sunday at 1:00 pm at BC Place.
