The Vancouver International Children’s Festival is an icon of our city and our love of family fun. To keep the momentum going, the Festival is proud to present their Pep Talk Series. Over four consecutive months (March through June 2013), the festival will present four world class speakers to talk about all things kids.
PEP Talks events is a parenting educational program that takes place at the Vancouver Playhouse (600 Hamilton St.)starting on March 7, April 10, May 15 and June 12 at 7:30 pm. Ticket prices are $130 for the entire series or $35 per speaker, with net proceeds to benefit the Vancouver International Children’s Festival.
Their first speaker on March 7th, is the famous or infamous most talked about ‘Free-Range Mom’ who allowed her child to ride alone on the New York subway. Lenore Skenazy will be chatting about our fears and paranoia as 21st Century parents.
Other speakers include Sheryl Feinstein (April 10) “The Adolescent Brain”, Deborah MacNamara (May 15) “The Lost Art of Play: Helping Children Grow Up”, and Lisa Bloom (June 12) “Raising Smart Kids in the New Millenium”
This series is guaranteed to inspire, and or at least give you a laugh when it comes to the good, the bad and the messy of parenting.
