Crayola Keeps Making Fun Gift Ideas

October 1, 2011 by Kerry Sauriol Leave a Comment

We love being a Crayola Family.   Caitlyn LOVES art and thanks to Crayola we have had many a fun after school when she and her friends happily try out the new products.

The last two have been a HUGE hit. This one in particular.

The MESS FREE Colour Wonder set has been a hit for the girls AND me.  It really is NO MESS.  I don’t know what sort of reverse engineered alien technology Crayola is using, but this stuff is great fun.

The no mess comes from the fact that it doesn’t use paint.   It is a clear gooey gel that is easy to wipe up.  The girls were painting at the dining room table and despite paper sticking together due to Tara being a tad over enthusiastic, it still wasn’t a big deal to me.   This is a battery powered ‘thing.’   The paint pots are all colour coded.  When your lit up paint brush touches the colour coded pot of your choice it turns that colour.  Dip in your brush and paint away on the special Colour Wonder paper. Caity was quite tickled with her creations, as was Tara.

Out of all the Crayola products that we have sampled, I will be buying the refills for this one.   I have been TOLD to.  The paint refills around around $10, and the special paper is about $6 for a pad.

We also received a LIGHT UP Tracing Desk – Disney Princess edition.   I will guiltily admit that we thought this the perfect gift for her BFF, but have been told also that we MUST get this. I have just recently introduced Caity to the fun of tracing and she – a girl keen on learning art – loves the concept AND it is PRINCESSES.   This retails for around $25.
