Just because we are an ‘official’ Crayola family does not make me bias. We do like Crayola products here. Their huge variety of activity sets are at a great price point for ‘treats’ and ‘extras’ at Christmas.
The sample stuff that has been sent for our families ‘reviews’ have been great for the rainy afternoons. When my house is overflowing with friends of both Adam and Caity, finding things that are TIDY to keep them busy can be a challenge….
The Model Magic Presto Dots To The Max kept the kids quiet and focused for a whole afternoon.
This set lets kids make fun creations with bumpy, 3D textures. Presto Dots to the Max is a deluxe collection with more bases, forms, Model Magic colors, tools and more fun-tastic ways to create and is about $19,99.
This was the first time I have seen Adam actively focus on following the ‘how to’ instructions on ANYTHING. He was quite proud of the final product. It was also cute watching him help the younger girls with their creations.
The modelling ‘stuff’ (really technical here) is a mixture of playdoh and clay. It is very dry and easy to clean up….lot less sticky than playdoh.
Glow Explosion Pop and Glow ($12.99)
This was yet another HUGE hit with both the kids. Caity LOVES colouring and the ‘cool factor’ of the glowing pop out shapes made this fun for Adam too. An entire afternoon was spent furiously colouring and then running into dark rooms to see their creations.
They are both now campaigning heavily for the FANCY version of this, called Spin Magic.
We will see what Santa says!
Crayola also sent some things suitable for little Tara….who really really wants to draw and paint.
The Beginnings Tidy Top: in which little artists can stay clean in this lightweight, long sleeved smock. It is machine washable, and features a velcro closure for adjustable sizes (18 months+, $6.19).
And the Beginnings First Marks Markers which are designed for a child’s full palm grasp. Colours include Please Pink, Yes Yes Yellow and Patty Cake Purple (18 months+, $6.99). Tara is already trying the ‘correct’ pincer grasp of pens, but is having fun with these markers, though they can be a bit big in the hands of a small toddler. though they can be a bit big in the hands of a small toddler.
