Okay, it was actually Crayola Time a while ago and I have TOTALLY sucked at getting a review up of the interesting products they sent us THIS time around.
I remember the sheer joy of getting as a gift a brand new pack of markers or pencils…..their perfection and newness laid out before me…..right beside either a blank sketch pad filled with promises of great works OR a wonderful colouring book awaiting my ideas. So you can image who was more excited when the kids opened the box and saw the Supertips Sketch n Colour Story Studio: 26 Super Tip Markers, 4 Silly Scent Super Tip Markers, 2 erasable sketching pens, 40 page sketch pad; Portable set, Pipsqueaks theme (6+, $10.99).
I don’t think Caity came up for air for the rest of the afternoon.
Tara still doesn’t have the dexterity for the cute Beginnings TaDoodles Crayons Buddies #2: (18 months+, $6.99). And I was a bit concerned about how easily she figured out how to pull out the crayons and just eat em…but we shall give her time!
So we didn’t really get to see her ‘play’ with the Beginnings Floor Pad Refresh: 20 pages of age-appropriate line drawings (18 months+, $6.99) but Caity has enjoyed it…..when she can spread it out and be left alone enough BY Tara to colour.
However, MY favourite of them all….and the funnest idea for the whole family, I think, is the Neutral Wall Decal: Repositionable dry-erase decals that allow kids to decorate and create on almost any flat surface! Decals peel easily from sheets and stick to most walls, metals, windows, fabric, plastic, notebooks, mirrors and more (4+, $10.99).
We now have signs in the bathroom reminding us to ‘brush our teeth,’ and one to tell us all to ‘wipe our feet’ on the back door. The sheer power this has given the kids to ’embellish’ their world has been hilarious. I keep finding little arrows and cryptic signs mysteriously showing up in odd places. But the possibilities are endless. AND they do work great…cleans off nice and easy.
Crayola has also launched their STORY STUDIO. Part of the vast amount of online activities they already have on their web site.
This is one of these activities that require an ‘access code.’ This code can be found on many of their specially marked products already available.
The studio is a fun place where they can build their own characters and story board, all customizable…..you can make the characters look like you, your family or your friends, or just make someone up!
myStory Is MY first attempt….we shall see what the kids can come up with!
The Crayola site is good. Filled with not only colouring pages, and games, but awesome craft ideas. This is a good site now…as the days grow shorter and the weather rainier and you start to scramble for indoor activities that will hold their attention.

Ohh.. I love Crayola items. I remember when I was a kid I beg for my mom to buy me a box of Crayola with the most number of colors. But she will not be moved, for my mom, 16 pcs. is enough. My only chance of having the box of 128 crayons is when somebody would give it to me as a kid. Looking at this post makes me want to buy Crayola again!
