You may have seen my amazed post on Twitter when the husband brought home an iPad. The kids are in heaven. The other day, the boys were playing on the Xbox downstairs. I think Tara had my iPhone. I was laying on the bed with Xoom tablet and Caity was laying next to me with the iPad.
Crazy right?
Needless to say the loss of these gadgets has begun to weigh on Adam’s mind.
Our internet and TV has been pretty spotty lately, add to that a show about mega solar flares and the impact on our electronic infrastructure, and his worry has grown. He has now connected this to the whole world ending in 2012 thing.
We had to run down the list of things that wouldn’t work. He was not interested in the fact that planes would drop out of the sky, cars and trains would not work and our food distribution would grind to a halt. No….it was the horror of what the heck he would do with no DS, no TV, no iPad. What a bleak world it would be for him and Caity.
While the rest of us armed ourselves against our increasingly desperate neighbours, Adam would be tapping mournfully at the blank and appless iPad.

Omg that’s too funny, true though. We’ve come so far and yet plugged ourselves in so much we’d go through withdrawls (if ever) we got unplugged, not knowing what to do. Heaven forbid we use our imaginations or go for walks and have conversations that don’t require ear-buds lol.
Great post!
