During Kindergarten Caity was lucky enough to have her eyes checked. She was sent home with a note that her examination indicated further testing.
I had been meaning to get MY eyes rechecked so it seemed to make sense to have both of us looked at.
The Optometrist was very thorough and a bit concerned about Caity’s eyes. She wrote a prescription for glasses to be used if I felt she was continuing to have problems and to come back in six months. This was to make sure her eyes hadn’t deteriorated in that time.
Thank you Lenscrafters PR for reminding me to do the follow up. I don’t usually do free promotions for companies…as I sure would appreciate the advertising dollars instead, BUT, eye care is important and this is great idea.
80% of what children learn is through vision and among school-aged children, 6-11 years old, an estimated 5.3 million have a vision problem. Problems with their vision can be the root cause behind learning issues and behavior issues at school.

Dear Sirs/madam
I am a senior who’s wife has a childcare center. My job is picking up and dropping children off at school.
One little six year old girl I’m specially concerned about has confided in me during a trip from school to the center, she can’t see the blackboard at school and is behind her classmates.
I have spoken to her teacher who verified she needs help but her Mom is on welfare and can’t afford to do anything.
I am trying to find someone who will help, and give this little girl a free
eye exam.
I will try and help from there. Thank You.

It’s so good that the experience with the optometrist wasn’t a bad one for your little girl. And that you were able to figure out that she needs glasses before she started complaining about not being able to see certain things. Those cases are so frustrating for the kids and their parents!
