Crunchy Carpets

Clean socks are a privilege, not a right

Yes..there IS another one!

I am about 14 weeks along…..I feel bad..I haven’t even told half my friends and NONE of my family.

It has all been weird.

While we are totally excited…with all the horror of losing Scott….just getting pregnant felt like a betrayal.

We are also a tad jumpy about ANYTHING being wrong or going wrong.

I have – for some reason – worried about people’s reactions to the news.  I have been more comfortable telling aquaintances rather than close friends and family.

I really need to cal lthe relatives though.

Hence..not blogging about it.  I have felt that I couldn’t really blog when I could pick up a phone and tell people in real life.

I still haven’t told family…well..MOM yes..but that has been about it.

And the kids.

They are excited.  Adam is worried though….but has slowly been feeling better about talking about it all too.

Caity got to attend my last Ultrasound…she was fascinated.

And so far everything looks okay.

I feel okay too…just tired and barfy…my gag reflex is on over drive.   I LOOK tired too.  And am er a wee bitty more crabby than usual.

ME??

Anyway…we are slowly slowly allowing ourselves to get a teensy bit excited about the little thing….due in July.

I have an excellent specialist who is very comforting, and makes me feel very taken care of.

That is what gets me through it all.

I just have to get over the feeling that being excited about this one is a betrayal to our wee boy.

You love the children you had before Scott, and you’ll love the one(s) after him too. There’s nothing wrong with that 🙂

I am over the moon for you. 2009 better be an amazing year for Crunchy Family! YAY!

Yay! (She finally spilled the beans too!)

There is enough love to go around to everyone 🙂 and I don’t think Scott would think its a betrayal; I’m sure he’s happy for you.

Congratulations! Happiness feels like a betrayal after a loss, but it’s not. Doesn’t mean Scott will mean any less to you at all. Enjoy!

Being an older mum myself, and having experienced what I consider to be the personal tragedy of several miscarriages, I fully understand your trepidation. Doesn’t help much when people tell us to relax and not stress out.

I also understand how it’s easier to tell acquaintances.

It’s very hard not to think of it as betrayal even though common sense tells us that it’s illogical.

I didn’t tell anyone [family is abroad] until four months, so I really know what a strong urge it can be just to hold in the secret just a little bit longer.

    Very best wishes

Oh Kerry! Congratulations! This is wonderful news. I imagine your feelings are perfectly natural given your loss of Scott but I hope that this pregnancy can be healing in some way for you, even though it won’t change the past. Hope you feel better soon!

Congratulations to you all. I hope you get past those feelings of betrayal very quickly. I realize that’s easy for me to say and hope. I do honestly believe that Scott is happy for you and for the one to come.

Yahoo! I am so excited about this! Can also relate to how it is easier to tell strangers than family. We did this with our pregnancy with Quinn as well……Give your bump a cuddle from cyber world!
