Bee says
whenever I see a double decker bus I always think of Scotland. That and bag pipes, why is there no bag pipes on your list ??
Chris says
Bag pipes are not there for a good reason!
You can probably get 2 & 3 on Ebay UK.
Do you mean Curry Sauce for the chips? 🙂
Edinburghs nice…..Aberdeens better!
(BTW Mr Linky does a WordPress plugin which is V easy to use)
Crunchy Carpets says
I don’t miss bagpipes because my alma mater has one of the finest pipe bands in the world (SFU) and have actually gone to see and hear them play!
The candy is here, but overpriced and requires a trip.
The sauce Chris is whatever the nippy sauce is that they use!
Kai says
Are you Scottish Crunchy?
I was actually going to post about my neighbour, who’s also Scottish. She kills me. She’s so much fun and I love listening to her. I call her ‘the lady of the silent “T”, and of course make her say words like ‘kettle’ and ‘Peter’, and ‘Mattie’. hehe
She laughs at the way I say ‘basil’, ‘tomato’ and ‘taco’.
Crunchy Carpets says
My dh STILL makes me say ‘book’
And I am from Edinburgh..our T’s are never missed…we always emphasize them instead!!!
Wylie Kinson says
What about hogmanay, good whiskey??? And HAGGis and Robbie Burns???!!! And nothing beats a good ole ceideilgh (or however the hell you spell it!!)
Ah–visited Scotland a few years back (my bro-in-law is from Dumfries) and had a fine old time. Lovely country, lovely people…
Crunchy Carpets says
Well the big hogmanay parties have been cancelled in edinburgh due to weather lately!
We still have haggis over here AND we have had some hilarious burns suppers for our friends with haggis, neeps, tatties and kilts and me reciting burns poetry.
And it is a rule with any family visiting…you must bring single malt ..or else.
It is fun there….my husband loved it too….LOVED inverness.
I do miss it a lot…but I don’t think I could live there now.
