Adam is now 8 going on 18. I am finding this age harder and harder to shop for when it comes to toys and entertainment. He is still young but the pull of cool is starting and while the role play and imagination is still there….the lure of things like video games over all is very strong.
Which is why I am glad that he enjoys the world of Ben 10. He watches all the cartoons and is very proud to be amassing a collecting of the various styles of “Omnitrix” which enables Ben to transform into the many alien characters.
Harbinger Communications sent us the latest gizmo from Bandai for him to check out. The Vuescope Ultimatrix allows you to choose through 12 different aliens and watch their image appear in your new Ultimatrix. The Vuescope Ultimatrix includes (2) vuecores with 6 alien images per core. It is cool because it lights up! Toys that make noise and or light up are cool…..get it!! 🙂
It is a lot of fun to watch Adam and Caity racing around playing Ben and his cousin Gwen (who is a cool girl character with awesome powers!!! Can we say role model!). I am a huge supporter of free and imaginative play so if cartoon connected toys can do that…so be it.
Another interesting product arrived with this one…..and this one sort of makes me jumpy….it makes me feel the way I did when I had a fish. When I told Caity about how the ‘creature’ was born…she stated that this was SERIOUS!!!
Welcome to the world of Tama-Town from Tamagochi!
Tamagotchi is the one and only virtual pet! TamaTown is the latest sensation, which includes the original nurturing play pattern and character customization.
- The TamaTown egg is larger for easier play.
- TamaTown is the base for the Tama characters (sold separately). Attach any Tama character and activate character-specific new games.
- Includes an interchangeable design sheet and 1 “lite” character unit.
- TamaTown has a new 4-gray scale display screen for greater detail!
- When you collect multiple characters, TamaTown rewards you with special announcement.
This appeals to girls in a big way. Caity is always taken with something you nurture AND collect. The pressure of keeping it alive however might be a tad daunting….we shall see. It hasn’t beeped at us in a while leading me to be a bit concerned for her current state of being!
Ours is a girl!
If you are working on the Christmas list, toys like these are inexpensive. We tend to do multiple smaller gifts and one big special one, so these fit into that category.
Hopefully I will have some more ideas for everyone as we creep closer to Christmas.
