Like many Vancouverites, air conditioning is just a pipe dream throughout this long hot summer. The interior of our house is stuffy and unbearable so as soon as the sun sets we are all out on our teeny tiny patio soaking up the cool evening air.
Usually, we are all out there with separate electronic devices…I like to binge watch Netflix shows curled up in my fave chair with the citronella candles lit and my homemade water feature gurgling away.
For a short while, thanks to Epson, we were united together in our viewing and enjoyed watching movies on our patio thanks to the really amazing Epson Home Cinema 730HD Projector.
Projectors sure have come a long way since the days I first started trying to set them up for various presentations. I seem to remember fussing with the feet for the right height and trying to focus felt extra difficult. Not anymore. Talk about plug and play!
We used an HDMI cable to connect it to my laptop and our set up was a fantastic test that proved that you don’t need a lot of space to enjoy outdoor cinema OR even a large white screen. The walls of our house are olive green and the picture experience was great. This was with the projector sitting right on our patio table. We also used it at my moms and projected the image against her bigger BROWN wall. Again, we didn’t notice our bumpy walls since the resolution was so good. The projector has 3000 lumens of colour and 3000 of brightness.
The sound quality is great too. The built-in speakers are more than good enough but again, the Epson is designed for easy connectivity to many devices and so would be a synch to set it up to whatever fancy speaker system your man-cave might have. The remote is great and simple to figure out too as is the setup menu.
The Epson730HD retails for around $500. For home theatres, backyard entertaining, or kickass presentations, it is a worthy investment.
