I have always liked Seventh Generation products. Their natural plant based laundry detergent in the biodegradable container is fantastic and I love that they now have pods too. I love pods for laundry. Pods that don’t kill the planet are even cooler.
So I can’t say no when someone offered to send me samples of the baby wipes even though we technically don’t have babies in the house. What we do have is children who act like they were raised by wolves. No scratch that, I think even wolves are more concerned about cleanliness than our children. Seriously. It is like a scene from Lord of the Flies around here some days. You would think they had never seen or heard the concept of running water and you know, SOAP. I found post its on my kitchen walls today and could easily trace the perp by their fingerprints in the CHOCOLATE they left on the wall.
Non toxic baby wipes therefore have many many many uses. Today I used one to wipe the dirt of my laptop. I also keep them in the car as we are now in ice cream weather and my God, they cannot seem to get any of it IN their mouths. Oh the sticky…it gives me shivers.
Another great product they sent was their makeup wipes…I can’t find them on the site, but they are lovely and so gentle on your skin and do great job of removing makeup without drying your skin. Perfect for those with more sensitive skin. My husband loves bar soap and they have that too and again no harsh chemicals….all natural and gentle.
Seventh Generation is trying to get us moms to seriously look at what is in the products we use in our house, on ourselves and on our children. Our families exist in a toxic soup of chemicals that probably should not be mixing and we breathe and ingest all that on a daily basis.
We the consumers have power over these sort of products. Not only can we protest with where our dollars are spent, we can demand the brands and our own governments to do something about the regulation of said products. The Environmental Defence site makes this easy and this is a letter form that you can send to our Ministers of Health and Environment asking for stricter rules. We can push for safer products for our family. It is our right to do so.
