In terms of fuel economy, the Outlander provides nearly 30 mpg, which is competitive for its class. Next year there will be a plug-in hybrid available which will give an even more competitive level of efficiency.
The Verdict
All in all, the new 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander seems to tick all the boxes for a family car. It’s large but not so large that it’s difficult to handle, and it can comfortably seat up to seven passengers with cargo room to spare.
