Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and our family is going to do our big dinner then as it leaves Christmas Day to the kids who can just relax and enjoy their stuff. So today will be a day of getting stuff done, houses cleaned up and errands done. And thanking people.
Blogging and social media has been very interesting this year. Connecting with the ladies (my friends) who created https://www.facebook.com/Digitallyyoursca has been incredible. Our events were fun and inspiring and have pushed us all to think bigger and better in this medium. Social media also helped me forge a great friendship and partnership with Clare, the face behind http://www.biggerbubbles.com/ and http://www.thegiftpages.com/. I am looking forward to pushing ahead with some of our ideas into 2014. Working with like-minded individuals always helps you grow further and faster when it comes to professional development.
But these women have been far more than that. I am grateful to these women for opening their hearts and minds up and letting me be a part of their world. I am a better person for it and so appreciate their kindness and laughter.
This might not be the biggest blog on the block, but I have worked with some lovely brands this year. I do hope you enjoyed my reports on vacationing at Disneyland. It was a great trip and I have learned so much about travel writing because of these opportunities. I love having a family of Disney fans.
I have worked a full year with the public relations team behind Proctor & Gamble Canada. It has been a lovely experience. I may have not taken them up on every giveaway and opportunity but have thoroughly enjoyed being part of that blogger family and the great blogs and bloggers I have met through that connection. We are truly a Proctor and Gamble family and are okay with that.
Because of this blog, our family gets to experience many things that we wouldn’t always do. From Disney trips to private box concerts (thanks Telus) to We Day experiences (thanks Telus again) to products samples and tastings. For budget minded people, this is a huge gift and worth the effort.
For Christmas I want to thank the brands who have connected and supported me. I want to also thank all those that bother reading and entering my little contests. I wouldn’t have a blog without you. I want to thank blogging for allowing me to meet so many amazing people over the years.
I also want to thank my family for putting up with me and my ‘it’s for the blog’ speeches. I couldn’t blog without their support.
I hope you are all having a lovely Christmas season and taking time to sit back and relax and enjoy……I am going to try to do just that.
I look forward to working and playing with you all into 2014, which I have a feeling will be an interesting year when it comes to blogging and social media marketing.
