I will admit that I am not what you would call an ‘fan’ of Pink. I like what I know of her though and her hit songs all deserve the respect and notice they get, but I don’t actually own any of her songs. I do think that she is a great choice for CoverGirl to have representing them and this feeling was solidified by seeing her show (thanks to the PR team behind Proctor & Gamble Canada).
Her tour is called ‘The Truth About Love’ tour and she and her devilish MC took us through the ups and downs of ‘love’ as interpreted by her music. Sexy dancers and slick guitar players are not enough for the likes of Pink though. Not only did she but her dancers take to the air to wow us with incredible acrobatics. Who can sing AND fling themselves around on a rope or wire upside down? Pink can!!!
Pink isn’t all about wowing us all though. She seems to be a genuine and fun person and she made the show feel very intimate, especially when just accompanying herself via piano or with the acoustic guitar. She acknowledged the young girls in the audience and kept away from swearing and warmed our hearts when chatting about her daughter.
I took my mom as my ‘date’ for the show. She is heading out on vacation on Wednesday and is not the most enthusiastic traveler, so I figured this would take her mind of that and was a chance for a mommy and me night. Mom is usually just my HELP for childcare and or the two of us taking the kids places, so this was a nice treat made even nicer by a great show and fun atmosphere of all the folks in attendance. Being the all ages in attendance her and I did not stand out from the crowd and our floor seats were INCREDIBLE.
From the huge age range in the audience, I am assuming this ‘rawness’ and honesty is a huge draw for her fans. She certainly won mom and me over.
I love CoverGirl makeup but I don’t think I will ever look as smoking hot as Pink does while wearing it. But she is certainly a great role model when it comes to the cult of celebrity. She is all about ‘inner’ confidence. Love yourself. BE yourself. Have fun.
