Dare to Dream for a Good Cause: Disney on Ice

My girls are big Disney fans and love the Disney on Ice shows that visit Vancouver.  It brings a little of the Disney magic to home.  They are very excited about their next presentation, Disney on Ice: Dare to Dream, as it appears to be chock full of princesses and who doesn’t love a good princess?  The kids are especially stoked about the début of Rapunzel.

Experience Disney’s hilarious hair-raising escapade, Tangled; as Rapunzel, her unlikely companion, Flynn, and Maximus, embark on an uproarious journey that takes adventure to new lengths!  Boogie to the beat of the bayou with Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen in a magical, musical journey that all begins with a fateful kiss. And fanciful dreams become reality as Cinderella meets her Prince Charming, with a glass slipper fit for an unforgettable fantasy come true.

It gets better:

Disney On Ice is sponsoring a  hair donation campaign partnering with Hype Hair Studio and Balding for Dollars to benefit undeserved children suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.  Disney On Ice and Hype Hair Studio are inviting the community to cut and donate their hair from November 5th – November 9th.

In appreciation of their kind-hearted gesture, each person donating their hair to charity will receive a free family pack of four tickets valued at $96 (available for the first 50 donations) to a Disney On Ice presents Dare to Dream show.

To donate your hair you must follow these guidelines:

– Hair must be clean and dry prior to cutting
– The minimum length for hair donations is 8 inches.
– Curly hair may be pulled straight to measure the minimum 8 inches.
– Hair that has been chemically processed cannot be accepted.
– Grey hair is acceptable.
– Donations must be tightly bound in a ponytail or secured with rubber bands one at each end of the ponytail and in the middle; and placed in a sealed plastic bag.

The fitted hairpieces require 20 ponytails and are handmade in 40-60 hours. It is estimated that children make up over 80 percent of the donors, making this a charity where children have an opportunity to help children.
