Caya: Gadget Dreams

May 24, 2012 by Kerry Sauriol Leave a Comment

I have to admit, that the fact that they (Telus) had people at their event just to entertain our kids, impressed the heck out of me. But the concept behind their CAYA  brand is clever one and we will be repeat customers for sure.

They opened their South Granville store back in November 2011, it is a lovely little store that sets you up to browse slowly, talk to their ‘MOMS’ (Matchmaker of Merchandise) and have a cappuccino too.

Caya is more than another outlet for smart phones and cameras.  They have all the accessories to go with said hi tech gadgets too.   We were drooling over their laptop bags…and great sale prices.   What (I think) is a huge draw is that Telus took over Blacks Camera and now are set up to help you actually DO something with the millions (I have over 1000) photos on your cameras and smart phones.     From photo books, calendars, you name it..they can help you make art and great gifts with your digital photos.   It took no time at all to download my photos and pick and choose for my first photo book.

Caya seems to be the physical embodiment of the online branding Telus has been doing.  They have done an amazing job of realizing that social media marketing is about community and reaching out not just shouting out.   They don’t want this to be a gimic.  They want Caya to be a part of the community as more than a place that just sells things.
