I have to admit that I tend to stick with the creams I know and don’t venture into unknown territory all that much. However, I am also a HUGE supporter of all things Canadian and am happy to try and talk about Canadian products. George’s Creams are one of those.
The first thing that I love about these creams…I have tried their Special Dry Skin Cream, and their Special Moisturizing Lotion…is that they are basically scent free and are absorbed with very little oily feeling left on your skin.
George’s Cream Inc. is a private Alberta based Canadian manufacturer and marketer of two specialty skin care products, and is owned by co-founders George Doherty and Skip Gibson. The company’s signature brand, George’s Special Dry Skin Cream, is named after its creator, George Doherty, a pharmacist and entrepreneur. George’s products do not contain urea, lanolin or parabens, and they are hypoallergenic and fragrance free. They are both available at grocery, mass merchandise and drug stores nationwide including Shoppers Drug Mart & Loblaws.
The Special Moisturizing Lotion is a lighter version of their Dry Skin formula. It is gentle enough for your face and to use everyday. George’s Special Dry Skin Cream is great for problem areas…for me that is my feet in the summer, and is great to use after you have had a shower.
They have kindly offered a giveaway to my readers….

I am bothered all seasons, due to a condition called Sjogrens Syndrome, I’m always looking for products for this problem. Sjorgrens causes dry skin, eyes and moisture issues in general, it is a form of Arthritis.

I’ve been hunting high and low for something likes this! Both me and my boy get very dry skin during the winter, and it’s very hard to find something soothing that I actually trust to use on my son (scents make him breakout in a rash, and I just flat out don’t like using a creme with too much “stuff” in it on him) For me, well, elbows, knees and feet (ick!!) are the worst during the winter. Nothing helps, but luckily, nobody has to see those parts until mid-June 😉 (oh the joys of living in Quebec… you get to keep covered up for 10 months out of the year!)

Winter for sure. I always get these red dry patches behind my knees that burn and itch. That and I am allergic to scents as they give me migraines. These creams would be perfect for this!
Trish says
Winter is hard on my skin and leaves my legs and hands especially rough.

What I hate? The eczema. And my kid has it worse than I do on her legs. Oy.

It’s skin products that generally cause a reaction! Still on the hunt for a non-greasy dry skin formula that doesn’t sting or make me go blotchy. This sounds promising 🙂

My skin tends to be dry most of the year, and I live in a high humidity area! I am moving back to the prairies and dread what my skin is going to be like. Winter is probably the worst.

My 5 year old son and I both have Eczema all year long but it gets infinitely worse during winter seasons. My son’s doctor recommended to use Vanicream and we have been using it for 2-3 years now. I used to buy several huge tubs(to avoid shipping fees) of Vanicream from an online drug store and use it all year long. Now our last tub is almost empty so I went to the same website and found out that they no longer ship to Canada. I searched like a maniac through the internet to figure out how to buy this damn cream and it seems there is no way unless I pay a lot of money or to go through a hassle. So now I’m like, “Screw it, who needs it, I’m sure I could find a cream that works the same,” and as I went on my exploratory trip to Shoppers drug mart, I spotted George’s Cream. I was very tempted to buy it since it was on sale ($15) and it said no urea, lanolin or parabens, and that it’s hypoallergenic, fragrance free and on top of that, it’s Canadian. It seemed too good to be true but I just had to do some more research before buying it. So I came home googled it and after reading a bunch of reviews only saying extremely wonderful stuff about the cream, I am finally ready to go out and buy me a tub of George’s Cream.

I’m also someone who would not buy something out of the territory. But after reading this review I think I should try this out. Hopefully this will suit my skin.
Thanks for sharing.
