As they kids get older, their interests change and I figure to keep my blog as personal as possible, the reviews and so forth that I cover will reflect that. I really truly try to stick with products that we would use or buy for ourselves. This is a site about myself and my family and the product reviews need to reflect that so (for me) it can stay real for you, my readers. I want you to trust what you read….I am not a review blogger…but I do enjoy it and hope you do too.
That said…this is a family ALL about video games. Caity and Adam live and breath the suckers. Killing zombies is dinner conversation around here. The Nintendo DS platform has been a favorite of both kids….I won’t talk about the games they keep losing over and over and that I find over and over.
So HOPEFULLY I will be doing more video game reviews and again focus on the types of games that my kids like…..you all know what my kids are like, so I think that is a good way for you to judge what will work for yours.
Let me know.
We received Lalaloopsy from Activision. This is based on the toys. You have seem the commercials for the dolls if your kids watch anything like Teletoon or YTV.
Caity was not as impressed with this one as the Zoobles game she checked out for me. I think the key is if they PLAY with toy in real life, they will tend to like the game. Caity is not into Lalaloopsy so the game didn’t grab her like the Zoobles did. She also felt that this just wasn’t exciting enough….to pedestrian….which is funny since the structure of the game is basically the same. The more friends you make, the more patterns and crafts are unlocked to try out. You travel through 12 different environments and find new friends. Each friend allows you to ‘make’ crafts or activities with them. There are 12 games…one for each doll. You also have pets. You have to take care of your pets by feeding and cleaning them. You can find missing pets and return them to your Lalaloopsy friends.
If your kids like the dolls and like making things on their DS, then they will like these types of games. I find these types of DS games have a fairly decent price point.
Let me know what your kids think about these games.
