Why I hate rainy days. Why I hate rainy days on long weekends where the adults are feeling a tad under the weather and don’t have it in us to do the whole ‘whee Easter is fun thing.’
Why I hate video games.
YESSSS admitted, video games CAN be great babysitters when I have important things to do like tweet work on amazing blog posts all day long. But having TWO kids who can’t seem to play TOGETHER most days….the WHEN IS IT MY TURN whine drives me batty.
The cries of rage and desperation when I say NO to the video games also drives me batty. The writhing in agony over being asked to first pick up the stuff off their bedroom floors, or take the toys upstairs drives me batty.
Do they do this to their teachers when ‘centres’ time is over? No. I didn’t think so.
Mind you….Adam came home to tell us that due to some ‘incident’ involving former big buddies and going where they weren’t supposed to go, he has to spend recess and lunch with his other co-conspirators in the school office tomorrow. He has been a bit vague on the details.
Then, he may or may not have murdered the Sea Monkeys. We won’t know for a few days…but swirling the glass around so everything washes up the sides of the glass was not in the instructions.
It also seems that Caity may have taught Tara the ‘F’ word….or not..they had already taught her to say ‘suck’ as in YOU SUCK…so who knows.
I don’t think they let potty mouthed kids on Disney Cruise Ships.
They are all sulking upstairs now. This is due to the shock and surprise that yes indeed…it is BEDTIME again.
And I think they ate all the chocolate….bastards.

That crying when the fun ends thing? It’s why the day that our TV died turned out to be an actually pretty good day. No more TV-related crying was bliss for quite some time.

Our TV died too…it wasn’t really that sad because we didn’t watch it much to begin with. The video games – I kinda wish they would die but then part of me thinks – would my kid be the only one who wouldn’t be with the times? Is that even important when you’re 8 years old? Hmmm, something to meditate on :). Our kids have a time limit on video games and they’re actually really good at sticking to them. At least they usually agree on what movies they want to watch.
