The one thing I am proud of at the moment is that I am actually DOING THE BOOTYCAMP FITNESS!!!
I have missed one day….was for a hopeful date night…but have been sticking at it and doing my darndest to work it hard and not pass out in the process.
And I am chuffed with myself..I may not be the fittest or skinniest broad there..but it doesn’t matter….we are all there for the same reason and it doesn’t matter what we look like as I sweat off the pounds!!
When we first started we were given a dvd of the various workouts to keep at in between our sessions. We were also given a book about the origins of the program, diet tips and a place to mark down our starting ‘condition’ and our goals.
Small goals and big goals….perspective is the key. And what is also great is that there is no magic diet in there…just tips on eating better and less and being AWARE of what you are putting in your body.
After doing the BMI stuff, I was happy to see that I am not QUITE on the obese side of the scale…just FAT!
And to be honest, weight loss isn’t really my goal with this…I am truly thankful that the folks at Bootycamp Fitness gave me this opportunity – it came at the right time and with classes RIGHT by my home AND at a perfect time..I could not turn down this chance.
What I am hoping to get out of the full 8 weeks that I have signed on for is to yes see a bit of a difference..but more in toning of things like my charming baby gut and more importantly for me…a change in my mental ability at WANTING to stick to a fitness plan..to find a plan that become part of my every day life….not just for 8 weeks.
I need a kick start to get me feeling motivated about my health…..apparently the dream of fitting in a smaller jean size is NOT enough…for me I need a lifestyle change….in my head…..to get off the couch…..don’t use the kids as an excuse and get out there and keep my body healthy as it slides down the hill past forty.
Crystal is our local instructor and she truly rocks. Cheery, kind, sympathetic and a great help and motivator. She makes me want to keep pushing. Even when you are the slowest person finishing up a set….you don’t feel like loser in gym in high school….you just do what you can and she is there for you….not leaving you in the dust.
So I may hurt like hell the next day..but so far it has been a good hurt. I think this is waking up my body..reminding it of what it can do….and that will keep me pushing and dreaming of amazing results when it is all done……if I stay away from the Blizzards and McFlurry’s!!!
