It’s not all education and research at the Vancouver Aquarium…oh no….there is plenty of fun too…and to prove it, they are presenting again for a limited time this July until August 6th,….a fave of all kids...SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!!
“This limited-time, exclusive engagement brings SpongeBob SquarePantsTM back to Western Canada’s only 4D Experience movie theatre. Meet some of SpongeBob’s underwater friends at our Touch Pools where you can actually touch and feel sticky living marine life such as sea anemones and prickly sea stars.”
My family was delighted to accept an invitation from the Vancouver Aquarium to help celebrate the one year anniversary of their amazing 4D sensory theatre.
My children are HUGE fans of the Aquarium, so having the chance to get back into the touch labs and ‘meet’ Patrick and his friends up close was a huge thrill.
The 4D experience is amazing. We went to their ‘usual’ show last year and it was so much fun….amazing film of our incredible oceans and shorelines and the life teeming within in it….WITH the added sensory experiences of being splashed, poked and prodded.
The Spongebob show is hilarious. Fast, silly, frenetic and filled with bubbles, water, rocking and vibrating, buzzing…all making us laugh out loud.
Well, Adam and I enjoyed it. The 4D thing freaks out Caity and Tara wouldn’t sit through ANY sort of theatre at all, so they went and toured the rest of the Aquarium while we enjoyed the show.
So yes, little one’s may not like it..but goofy 8 year olds will love it. It is a fun little thing for kids to do while at the Vancouver Aquarium…good quality entertainment in a stunning facility that my family already loves.

Sounds like so much fun! I wanted to go but couldn’t find childcare for my toddler. It looks like my 5-year-old and I missed out. I’ll definitely have to check it out while it’s running.

You know, I really love the aquarium. I was going to take my daughter yesterday but… the summer prices surprised me. Still, it’s one of my faves.
Have never been a spongebob fan, however.
