Signs I Have Too Many Kids…

March 18, 2010 by Kerry Sauriol 3 Comments

I was quite proud of myself this morning.  Got myself washed and dressed and the kids – including the baby – all set to head out, drive the hubster to work AND give myself time to hit McD’s for a fancy drive through breakie before hitting the doc’s for myself and Tara’s appointment.

That went swimmingly well.

I then handed in my prescriptions at Safeway, headed to our local mini mall, tossed babe in the stroller and wandered over to M&M’s Meat Shop…I almost like that store better than shoe stores…and was done in time to whip around and pick up Caitlyn from school.

The boy wonder’s class is right next door, and the ENTIRE class noticed me and all yelled “HI ADAM’S MOM!” and so Adam wandered up to say hello….and I barely registered the HUGE SHINER on his EYE!!!

You can tell I barely registered it because I didn’t even TWEET about it.

I have witnessed so many WOUNDS on this child that they no longer cause me any alarm.  And it was obviously no biggie, since the  school didn’t call and HE wasn’t freaking.

Though apparently, Caitlyn reported..SHE cried about it a lot.

Sigh….

Apparently a  girl “accidentally” kicked him in the face.

Apparently…by accident…..yeah, right.

My kids are the playground “accident” magnets. Kicked in the face from a kid coming down the slide. Shoved into a brick wall during a game of tag (bruises on her BACK). Smacked in the eye with the end of a jumprope during a game of helicopter. Pushed into a tree during a game of zombie tag.

Some are accidents, some are kids who are maniacs with blatant disregard for human life. Some of it is that my kids aren’t that coordinated and neither are their peers.

Yeah…I know that problem as well. At intervals of 2 weeks a can waite for that my kids come home with a new lesion. I stopped thinking about that becuase it seems that I can´t do anything. I just have to console them and cure the wounds.

Yikes. A girl “accidentally” kicked him?! She sounds a bit brutal.
