Being that this is NOT a review blog, I don’t say yes to every single review request or PR pitch I get emailed to me. NOT that I am getting millions, but I am getting more and more.
However, I have always said that if the product or service fits with my family and is something my family would actually use or buy without being offered a freebie, etc….I would be open to reviewing and posting about it.
Which is why I was flattered and then a tad intimidated when the PR folks working with LEAPFROG contacted me about working with them and exploring not only their products but their online LeapFrog Learning Path. The Learning Path is a way to really focus on the ‘educational’ aspect of their products. It allows parents to monitor online the children’s progress and levels of learning/expertise with the various LeapFrog toys out there.
I say intimated because in all honesty, I am a total newb when it comes to LeapFrog products. We have NONE in the house. Being that we have XBoxes and DS’s and all sorts of other gadgets, we had just shied away from them as just MORE stuff that needed batteries.
Sure the kids have played with them at other peoples houses and I have in all honesty never heard anything BAD said about them…but we just hadn’t bought any ourselves!
Being that they were happy to provide some LeapFrog toys for us and some potential playdate friends to start us off AND to discuss donating their products to a charity of my choice AND that I am always looking for ways to help improve my sons reading…how could I say no to this opportunity.
So I do hope that you who do read my blog won’t be offended by any posts about the products. I am genuinely curious to see what my kids make of them.
I have a feeling this has opened up a whole new bunch of Christmas gift ideas at the House of Crunch.
I also have to confess that opening up the TAG Readers sure saved me from weepy boys after my son couldn’t find the ten bucks I had allegedly put in his backpack for the Scholastic Book Fair and therefore could not buy more books.
See, already the sparkly and new electronic books have saved me!
