Crunchy Carpets

Clean socks are a privilege, not a right

Family Fun Friday???

January 23, 2009 by Kerry Sauriol 3 Comments

It must be pregger hormones.

So last night while I was avoiding mockage from my husband due to sniveling throughout ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ due to the ailing little boy on the show and the drama surrounding him, I was filled with over flowing love for my own “angel” son.

When I headed up to bed after, ignoring the snorts of derision coming from my loving partner, I found my boy snuggled up in OUR bed…..nekkid….and all set up the way he likes it.  Lights on and radio blasting.

So I sniffled and gazed at his lovely long eye lashes and listened to his sweet adenoidal grunts.

In my mind, I composed a touching and heartfelt blog, exploring my need for my childrens love and how I felt almost selfish in being surrounded by their love and ‘need’.

Then there is today.

Well, there is RIGHT NOW.

Because Adam was feeling a tad upset at being left out of all the ‘fun’ Caity got to do….tagging along to my office, attending an ultrasound, etc,  I decided that it would be nice if he could come with me to the lab and I would – in return – take him out for lunch.  Just him and me.

No Caity.  Mom would pick her up from pre school and wasn’t I a nice mom.

So that did actually work out.

Till he got home.  Till he decided he had ‘missed out on all the fun’ because mom had taken the dog out for a quick run WITHOUT HIM.

Apparently he NEVER GETS TO PLAY WITH THE DOG WITH THE FAMILY.

OOOOOOH THE INJUSTICE!!!

Caity..who usually IS a total pill, has been trying to be nice and asked him to play Lego Star Wars with her.

He refused stating first he wanted to go outside and then he wanted to play video games on his own.

This didn’t go down well.

They seem to NOW finally have reached some sort of agreement and he is no longer wailing and stomping all over the house.

But really.

Could the boy be any more emotional???

I can’t win.

On another note..the lab work was for a part two blood test for Down Syndrome and so forth.

The technician there, who was happily telling me about her three kids and so on, seemed to imply/assume that I will be having amnio…so…I assume my doctor will be talking about that next.

He is a bit vague about next steps and appointments.

I really need to talk to him….get my pregnancy life planned out a bit more.

Oh and to all you asshole drivers who honked at me today for not making right hand turns WHILE THERE WERE PEDESTRIANS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME………..bite me.

Hm. Yes. Amnio a definite possibility. My doctor, when I asked if there were as many false positive as I heard there were, flapped his hands (nearly whacking me with my chart – I think he’s hilarious), and said, “They’re ALL positive. In order to get the one that isn’t a false positive, you have to do an amniocentesis.”

    So yeah. Amnio.

Keep in mind you don’t need to do the fetal blood test or the amnio. You’re allowed to tell the doctor “bite me” too :o)

    And congratulations!!!

I skipped the triple screen as well. But that’s partly because I will do anything to avoid a blood test. 😉

And I can’t believe you weren’t willing to mow down pedestrians. Don’t you realize that people have places to go? You might be delaying their arrival time by MANY SECONDS. Geesh! (I had to drive to the airport and back yesterday, and by the time I got home my neck was permanently kinked from the stress, I hate driving in Vancouver).
