Crunchy Carpets

Clean socks are a privilege, not a right

More Roller Coasters

Good grief.  Things have been quite insane.

The glam life of a Stay at Home Mom.

My day planner is over flowing with scribbles and it all has to do with kid stuff.  And domestic stuff.  WTF?

And even I realize it is all boring as shit.

Patrick was hanging with a friend yesterday and he came in to say hi.  I realized right there, that my week would hold NO interest to a 40 year old gay man.

I haven’t even seen any good movies.

Sarah Connor Chronicles was about ALL I could talk about.

That show kicks ass by the way.

I can barely talk about my day with my husband because I am sure it sounds NO WHERE NEAR as important as it felt at the time.

Okay, he IS as pissed as me about the whole school thing.   And is going nuts because he CAN’T be there.

But that is really it.

Oh and is it really wrong to shush your kids because you are trying to watch ‘Torchwood’?  I didn’t think so.

Anyway.

Due to a cancellation, Adam had his first ‘procedure’ done at the Dentists.

Eek.

It is a cool kid friendly place and they did a fantastic job.  BUT.

The dentist was worried that there might be infection down to the root, so she mega needled him.  The poor kid was SCREAMING and I don’t blame him.

The actual procedure itself was fine for him.  Specially since they gave him freezies inbetween to keep him happy.

He only really freaked again when they were pushing on the steel crown.

THREE MORE TO GO.

So he moaned and groaned his way to Toysrus as I had promised him a special toy for his bravery.

He moaned and groaned his way out with a wack of Bakugan’s and suffered all afternoon.

Then we had a Parent/Teacher conference……with a teacher who had just met him that day.  Since the OTHER teacher…the one I have issues with was on her day off.

Yah.

We found out that they are trying to get the Resource Teachers to take on a bunch of one on one with the Grade One’s and the one RT seems to really like Adam.

We decided that if Adam was okay with that arrangement, we would keep him in for now and just keep an eye on the OTHER teacher.

I hit the roof when I found out that she now has a ‘Super Speller’ sheet for the kids that get 10 out of 10 on spelling quizes.

While I get that some competition is good.  I don’t think seeing a kid do waaaay better than you in spelling is going to be good for self esteem.

Especially for all the kids who DO have learning issues.

My son got 9 out of 10 on his first spelling quiz and felt that wasn’t that great thanks to that stupid sheet.

WTF????

Anyway.  The principal called and I told him my plan.  He wants me to meet with the teacher so I can tell her myself.

Should be interesting.

Oh and thanks economy for tanking JUST when I was thinking about house hunting.

Just when I was thinking that we might actually be able to get out of here.

Now we are all worried again about our pennies and budgets and savings.

We are burning through way too much cash these days.

Between dentists and cars ( $50 for new plastic bit on handbrake) and halloween and kids activities etc etc.

Not to mention Patrick paying for lunches every day and so on.

We are just spending way too much money.

I am tapped out already.

Ick.

So it is the weekend.  Thanksgiving weekend.

Turkey is frozen solid in fridge ……hmmmm

There is an INSANE mountain of laundry to tackle.

The senile cat pooped and pissed on our bed last night.

And Patrick wants to go dig out the Halloween stuff..which means boxes all over the house.

Whoop.

Ahem.

Oh and I just made the little freaks pancakes and they are already bitching at me for MORE FOOD!
