It’s No Fun, Being at a Wet Aquariummmmmm!

August 29, 2008 by Kerry Sauriol 3 Comments

Well, ok, it was…but you get the picture.
It was very soggy in Vancouver today…so we figured we should enjoy the wet by watching wet creature.

The Belugas at the aquarium have a new addition. We have not had a chance to see the baby, but the kids witnessed the birth on tv and have been going on and on about it.

I won’t get into the debate about animals in captivity here…The Vancouver Aquarium is no SeaWorld…it is way more about education and entertainment…but yes, they are still whales in captivity.

Anyway, you have to line up to see the baby..the area is roped off. They allow small groups into the underwater viewing where you are met with staff and researchers there to explain all about the life and birth of Belugas.

The kids loved it and the baby is really cute. For a big grey blubbery thing.

After we got ice cream for the kids and watched the White Sided Dolphins get fed.

Caity turns to me and starts rambling on..

“Mom, do you remember on Breakfast Television?”

Me: “Yeah”

” Well, do you remember the baby whale being borned on the tv?”

Me: “Yeesssss”

“Well, can’t we go to that place and see the baby whale?”

Me:……

Me:…..

Me: ” You mean the baby whale we JUST saw five minutes ago?”

“Yeah..that one.”

Me: nnnnnnnngggggg
