sort of sucks right now.
It doesn’t help that I am getting over some weird cold that hit on Sunday.
It doesn’t help that I am feeling a tad burnt out with footing the majority of duties surrounding kids and household.
It doesn’t help that if my MIL is going to be in the hospital (again) for a long time, that our routine is going to suck.
So far my BIL has been going down there during the day to see his mom. He has been looking after the Granny too.   We have offered to help with housework and groceries.
Crunchy Husband has been getting up around 10ish and working straight through till he heads down for the evening shift at the hospital at around 6 ish. He comes in late in the evening and carries on with any other work before hitting the sack.
Not really fun.
Not really something that is going to work long term.
Not fun when we have no clue really what is going on except that the doctors say she does need surgery and the surgery is 50/50. Â We just don’t know when and what state she will be in for the rest of her life.
But we do need to carry on.  We have taxes to get done. We need to plan for Adams birthday next month.
That family.
They have spent so much time in hospitals. First for their dad and now over and over again for their mom.
One good thing. We finally got our new furniture delivered…well two bits anyway. And we want to order another end table as we really like it. We were worried that the HUGE leather ottoman would be too big in our living room space, but it actually works and the kids are happy because the play cars all over it.
I will get some photos soon!
It is a dark and rainy day…but the air smells fresh. Filled with the scent of greenery and blossom. We are hoping to hit the library today and I will take Callie for a nice walk.
If my headache stays away.
I hate having a cold. I don’t like to drink coffee when I am sick, but then the caffeine withdrawal kicks in and I get headachy. Quite pathetic.
Now I have to go call my mom. I was a bit em…snarky with her when she called last night.
My bad.

Taking good care of the caregivers is the key to surviving this kind of thing. In the case of you and CH, you are caregiving both up (MIL) and down (kiddos), which means you need to take extra-good care of yourselves. For example, finding a babysitter one evening a week so you and CH can have an adult dinner before he goes to the hospital. Just that couple of hours per week can be a huge relief.
