Crunchy Carpets

Clean socks are a privilege, not a right

What Did You Do Today?

April 10, 2007 by Kerry Sauriol 8 Comments

I did a lot.

After waisting the morning away with lots of coffee and the paper…..and chocolate, I felt guilty enough to tackle the big stuff.

I was also galvanized by the fact that I could NOT walk on the floor of Caity’s room, thanks to her dumping out every single toy she owns.

So I tidied up her room….which wasn’t too bad.

Then I looked at Adam’s. Ugh.

Not only does is smell like pee (don’t ask), but I couldn’t even reach the closet to put away his clean clothes…which was just as well as they all stink because of the pervading odor in the room.

Ick.

Also, and weird, yes…we decided to move his bed from an East West position to a North South position…we have the idea that all of us will sleep better in this direction. Caity does. The rest of us travel like the dial on a compass till we face north..in our opposite beds.

Again, great idea when my hubs is too busy to help me.

But I did it…and now his room looks great and smell slightly better after scrubbing the carpet and any obvious patches. I also managed to haul out about 3 garbage bags of ‘junk.’

Today’s activities really wore me out. I had to have RESTS! Not like me. Add that to me getting motion sickness on the Zipper yesterday at the Fun Fair AND that my period is slightly late is making hubs and I look at each other and say ‘uh oh.’

But it is too early for that.

The kids are bitter that they didn’t get out to play today, but I explained to Adam that I just couldn’t let it go another day and it was really important…he was ok with it.

He likes his room now anyway.

So early bed tonight…it beckons to me.

I haven’t started my day here yet (away from the computer) but will after I leave here! Yeah.. it’s after 1pm ๐Ÿ˜‰

I loved re-arranging rooms when my kids were still young. Backbreaking at times, but it was always so nice to give them that thorough cleaning and start fresh. OMG.. I’m a sick sick woman lol!

We had family over for Easter, so I did most of my cleaning then. I cleaned my daughter’s room but it only emphasized the fact that we need some serious organization in there. She just has too much stuff! Where the heck does all this come from? I swear it breeds; which, of course, might explain the various smells coming out of the bedrooms of our offspring.

Hey find any clothes in there I could buy for my kids? I am loathe to shop for my little boy… poor lamb.

And, tidying? I am green with envy.. I am still staring down a mountain of boxes. F*%^K there’s another one giving me its evil cardboard-y eye. Screw you I want a cup of TEA!

    LMP? LMP??? bwahahahahaha
