At Christmas I was a bit thrown when my husband asked me if I wanted an e-reader. I had never considered on, being the paper book and heavy library user that I am. I had to scramble a bit to find out what I would remotely like. I ended up with a little Kobo, which I love because it looks like something out of Star Trek. It does me fine. It is small and easy to download books from various sources. I did know that many people out there were RAVING about their Kindles and the Kindle Fire.
Well, now I know why. The Kindle Fire is more than an e-reader. This is pretty much a book friendly tablet. It is almost as big as most tablets and is very fun and easy to use.
Having an Amazon account already made setting it up even easier. Books that we had already downloaded for my daughters iPod were instantly available on the Kindle. Daughter 1 was very happy. All the kids love that they can access their social media on it too. (yes they have Facebook accounts)
The amount of GAMES that are available to download for free and for a small fee also made ALL of the kids very happy. Daughter 2 has pretty much taken over ownership of it.

My kids are pretty tech savvy and used to touch screens due to already owning iPods and iPads. The interface is not much different on the Kindle. The reader itself is very eye-friendly and comfortable to use as bed time book. This is a great device for people who don’t care if there is an ‘i’ at the beginning of the name. You have access to the internet, your social media, audio files and much more…AND can enjoy your favourite novels all for a very affordable price. While games are always the lure for my children, a book served up in pixels tends to help win them back to that whole ‘reading’ thing. My daughter also loves audio books.
