I was pretty stoked to be asked (FINALLY) to join the Netflix Blogger Stream Team. Netflix is heavily used in this house on a variety of platforms. We have a bunch of smart TV’s, Xboxes and Playstations, as well as iPods and Laptops that are all used to view shows from Netflix.
I love Netflix because when the kids are hogging the TV’s with their various video games, I can plug in headphones and watch my fave TV and Films (old and new) on my laptop. I infact spent a lot of summer nights hunkered down on the patio doing something that can EAT YOUR SOUL….well EAT YOUR TIME!! The phrase is BINGE WATCH. This occurs because Netflix will have entire seasons of rockin shows on meaning you can’t stop watching after one episode.
I did this with House of Cards season 1 and then I tried….ooooh I tried, to slowwwww down my viewing of season 2, but alas….I could not. It was all just too good.
Next for me was Homeland. Blew through two seasons of that. Oh and there was the great UK show Misfits too. Mind, I have saved a few episodes of that to watch. They managed to sort of break my binging habits when they slowly doled out the Dusk to Dawn show. The habit came crashing back with the amazing show Hemlock Grove. I am now going into serious withdrawal after watching all these great shows.
And that is the problem with bingewatching. It is all over too soon and too quickly.
I am trying to slow down this habit with my viewing of Hell on Wheels. I emphasize trying.
Oh Netflix.
The other night we had a power outage and so instead of Netflix we played Cards Against Humanity which is also very addictive.
