I recall the crappy plasticy car seat we had to bring Adam home from the hospital. I believe it may have been second hand. We had not yet been swayed by all the pretty one’s in the baby stores and in the year 2002 the explosion of all things baby and trendy was just starting. I do remember being so relieved that the nurses made sure we were all safe and secure. I also recall my paranoia about correct installation staying with my till at least the third kid :). With each developmental milestone we took advantage of the BCAA car seat clinics to make sure we were doing it right.
So I am happy to hear that Chevrolet is offering car seat clinics and not just for their customers or cars, but for any make or model. Families and caregivers can sign up for the free workshops at www.safeandsure.ca. Sessions will begin at Chevrolet dealerships in Vancouver and Toronto in April 2014. Dealerships in Montreal will begin offering the workshops in late spring 2014. Parents and caregivers can register online now for their free expert consultation.
Chevrolet’s car seat installation workshops were piloted in Toronto during 2012 and 2013. The workshops received such overwhelmingly positive response from parents, grandparents, expectant parents and caregivers that Chevrolet is working with Parachute to now offer this program in three major cities.
It is nice to know we are not alone when it comes to car seat safety. To register for a Safe and Sure Chevrolet Car Seat Installation Workshop visit www.safeandsure.ca. I have three kids and the youngest is 4…I want to know what sort of seat she needs to be in now and what we are doing right or wrong. I also wonder if my two oldest should not still be in boosters. I can’t wait to find out.
Thanks Chevrolet.
