The Adventure Begins

Tis the night before our big adventure.

We haven’t traveled much as a family.   Tara was not around for our Disneyland vacation and since then it has mostly been small  trips over to the island.

Packing for this thing was a tad monumental.

Mainly because we are going somewhere where it will be a tad damp.  Sure the ship will be great…but you still need a mix of stuff right…not just shorts and t-shirts.      Can we make Tara pull along her own case?

I think we are all set though.  House is taken care of, cats are taken care of, dog is taken care of.   Managed to get passports for the girls in the nick of time.  Patrick and I have worked like manics on our making sure work commitments were sorted.  Granted the house isn’t as clean as I would like it to be…oh well.

The kids are hysterical and probably won’t sleep.   I can hear them talking upstairs right now.

There are many bloggers out there who do cover extensively traveling with kids….and I should probably have been reading their sites.  I am a total newb when it comes to cruise ships so we are probably bringing too much.     The logistics of just getting us down to the cruise ship terminal almost finished me.

We are probably bringing too much stuff.  But there are three kids to think about and that third one seems to make things extra complicated.

Life feels very busy and weird….with Royal Weddings, Elections (WTF CANADA??), and Jason Bourne like assassinations, the world is whirling on at a break neck pace.   I think a little step away from reality will be good for me.

I look forward to sharing our adventures on the cruise with you. Disney will be sailing all summer from Vancouver to Alaska from May 3rd until August 30th…THOSE trips will be less rainy than this one will probably be!
