Baby Gourmet Organics

A little while ago I was asked if  I wanted to check out a new organic line of baby foods from Baby Gourmet.  I was going to say no due to the fact that Tara, at 18th months, is well past the special baby food stage…but  I was intrigued by the packaging and the ‘organic’ of it all.

I LOVE that it comes in resealable SQUEEZABLE packages.   Now the packages are not recyclable as yet – the caps are..but they are working on that…however they are small and BPA free.    The caps are also large enough to ensure not being choking hazards too.

Jennifer Broe and Jill Vos are the co-founders of Baby Gourmet…..all the recipes and mixes come from Jennifer’s kitchen.  This is home tried and tested baby  food.

As close to homemade as you could probably get without making it yourself.

And I did make my baby food for all my kids…and I did buy the jars too…..Tara was not keen on any of them except the banana.

She recently had a bad cold that knocked her flat for over two weeks.  It totally destroyed her appetite for solid food and all she really wanted was milk or some yogurt.

I was getting a bit stuck on how to get her back on track with her eating…then I looked at the sample pack that they had sent for my review…hmmmm.

I started mixing a bit of ‘real’ food with the baby food…just tiny amounts.  I also added the sweet foods into her yogurt….it is working.

She is slowly getting back to eating regular meals again….the baby food is YUMMY.   The mixtures are unique…but all flavours that Tara likes…who doesn’t like sweet potato or apples and cinnamon?   With the help of Baby Gourmet, I think we can get her old appetite back!

This is a super brand of baby food…for the organic aspect and the packaging…the containers take up a LOT less room in your pantry and fridge…for people like me who live with tiny kitchens…space is as important as health.

If you are starting to introduce solids…this is a nice safe healthy way to try….
