I have a blog..but it is the Christmas season and who has time for blogging???
I should have been wrapping all day….but noooooo.
Oh well.
Friday was the kids last day. It was a week of Christmas concerts….from Class Projects, Choirs and Sing a Longs….and of course much Christmas themed art coming home with the kids.
Adam joined the Choir this year and so we got to see him sing for the first time….and while he wasn’t sure all the time of the words…he seemed to enjoy it and they did do some tough songs….all the traditionals in German, French and English.
Caity’s class did an awesome hip hop dance to ‘Mr. Grinch.’ I do have about 30 seconds of it on video, but the rest of it is a blur of me racing after Tara who wanted to join in. Tara is not a concert watcher…she like to participate. This made all the events a tad exhausting.
Adam’s c;lass sang along to ‘I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas’ which is Tara’s favorite song EVER. She spent the whole time trying to find a TV though as she really wants the Telus version.
My mood has wavered all over the place….I THINK I am happy for the holidays…..I am READY (sort of) but the construction here is getting me a bit down. This house is bad enough and adding scaffold and torn out windows and crumbling drywall isn’t helping me feel house proud or like even TRYING for NICE.
But the little tree is up….it looks pretty and what else can we do.
I THINK we have bought everything….it all sort of blurs together after a while. I also THINK we have spent a little less than last year, but again…you start picking up bits and pieces here and there and then who knows right.
And I haven’t even started the grocery list.
I don’t know how people do big family dinners…..we just do us and the grannies and it still seems to cost a fortune. And be exhausting too.
Oh the fun right!! RIGHT!!!
Poor Adam has started of the holidays a bit bumpily. After his sister got to go on an impromptu sleepover, he BEGGED us to have a couple of friends over. So pizza was ordered and movies picked and then he got a migraine.
A bad one. A barfing one.
So away went the kids and up he went to lay in the dark with mummy.
However, today he went up to Cypress Mountain for a tubing party…he was gone from 1:30 until 8:30….a loooong day.
Christmas always seems to rush up upon us ….a mad scramble. I hope we can enjoy this week leading up to it and have some family fun. I am going to try anyway.
As much as my family drives me batshit crazy…I adore them. I love my kids. I love being with them, I love holding them, hugging them and laughing with them.
My kids are my gift…..I honestly don’t need much (cept for shoes!) after having them….
This house is a loud dirty crazy place….but it is filled with hugs and kisses……and that makes me very happy.
