Crunchy Carpets

Clean socks are a privilege, not a right

Hang my Head in Shame

January 22, 2009 by Kerry Sauriol 2 Comments

So apparently, according to the Area Supervisor, my house is so disgusting that the only words spoken to me were ‘ Clean your carpets…its the rules.’

Not, oh we are sorry that your kitchen counters are trashed and were when you moved in, or the lino needs replaced, or we wil fix the big hole in the front yard that we did by digging up pipes….nope.

That was it.

My mom apparently, got a chatty time with promises of new bath surrounds and carpets etc….her carpets are spotless.

Yes..they are grody.  But they are also RENTAL quality carpets.  The last guy in said they don’t clean well cos they suck.   I cover em in area rugs.

I also resent paying lots of money and huge effort to get them clean when they are not my own.

I am a failure in the housekeeping department…sob sniff.

So….unless we  are suddenly lottery winners and moving to a glorious new and BIGGER house with NICE  flooring….I will away and rent a bissell from Safeway..THAT is as good as it will get.

Sorry you have to go through the trouble of having to do that. That said, I do love freshly shampooed carpets. (Yeah, I’m weird. I’ll concede that point.)

I can only imagine how smug he was when he said it too. Before we bought our townhouse in June, we lived in co-op housing. It is do derilect that when they finally did do something to upgrade (like spend money on new doors…like we needed that over no cabinet doors) it made it so you were so thankful you thought the co-op gods had granted a favor.

I am with you about spending money on rental grade carpets. It seems like you can sweep them off with the same benefit of vacumming.

    Good like with the Bissel.

Michelles last blog post..We should be thankful they say please…..
