For the last few years, my NY wishes have usually sounded like ‘Please, nobody DIE this year.’…Our clan has faced a lot of stress and heartache over the last few years….it has tended to make New Years a time to hunker down and hope for the best.
Our holiday was also marred a tad with worrying about Pat’s Grandmother..she is in hospital and is feeling very depressed about it all.
With it all, I haven’t been great at communicating with folks…..hence boring blog and lack of calls to all those who are due, not to mention the people I forgot to send Christmas cards to!
Today, I am just happy that I am not sick and that our car was safe and sound – see THIS post about our BIG adventure last night.
I am glad that the snow seems to be FINALLY melting.
I am glad that schoold is back..bless my boy…I adore him, but the CHATTER!!!
I am glad that despite weather and sickness I did manage a brief night out with my best friend home from DC for the holidays. While we email and FB all the time, it was wonderful to hang with her IRL.
I am glad for my hubs that his website is up and running and is frikking awesome.
My house looks like a war zone.
The denuded tree is lurking right behind me awaiting a trip to the chippers.
The detrious of Christmas is still ground into our already ‘Crunchy’ carpets.
My new boss wonders why he hired me as I totally flaked off on him over the holidays.
Poor guy.
But I feel good today. The mess will get dealt with, on my own time.
I refuse to stress about it or anything these days…(Well, I have one BIG stressor right now, but can’t share yet!)…but other than that…..messy houses and work and everything else….I just can’t get THAT agitated about it all.
I can’t even tell you how sad I was to learn my daughter’s preschool was closed today due to weather. I’m glad you didn’t face a similar situation.
And do I smell a secret?

Well congratulations on looking at things in a positive light….yup the dust balls will still be in the corner and then laundry can get done when it gets done….seems to me you are on the right track and realizing what is really important…..I like that…cheers!
SmalltownRNs last blog post..Let’s get real…..
This NY my only mantra is, “Health.” On all levels, I can stand to be healthier. And too many of my friends are living with cancer at the moment.
So, To Health! Or, as we say around here, Salute!
