Too bloody fast…well for a person like me anyway, who prefers laying on the couch to dashing around like a maniac these days.
But the tree is up and decorated. Parts of the house are relatively clean, and I will get to the other parts.
MOST gifts are bought..just a few more to purchase….the majority being for Adam..for some reason we were getting stuck on him even though he pretty much wants EVERYTHING!!!!
We pathetically ducked out of TWO open houses this weekend. We were just all feeling a tad burned out and then used the snow as an excuse.
I think this will be a quiet Holiday Season for us.
I haven’t decided if I should try to invite people over or not….How scrooge of me!
I am enjoying it all. Have been having fun watching all the cheesy Christmas shows with the kids and accepting all the art from school too.
The house looks pretty and all the animals seem to be doing just fine.
My old school friend from Scotland called me last night…checking in…really great. She is due with her first babe next month, so I am very excited for her.
We had a good blether.
Despite our beaming pride at how well WE think Adam is doing at school, our nemesis struck again with a totally mediocre report card. She was the same in kindergarten. Not ONE exceeding…not even a FULLY meets expectations..I mean COME ON!!!???
Sheesh.
Tomorrow night we have Caity’s preschool Christmas party.
I don’t want to talk about it.
Last years was a nightmare.
It was such an unorganized disaster and I was in no mode for it…..I am praying that my (ahem) better mood this year and the odd hint that they might be SLIGHTLY more organized this year, will make it doable.
Eesh.
Last year, the kids were going to sing….but they made them sit down to sing. So all the parents stampeded forward to stand on chairs to video tape this (I haven’t even LOOKED at our version of this). This meant the elderly grandparents and GREAT grandparents who had been invited couldn’t see a dam thing.
I think the kids are standing again this year…I hope they can control in the INSANE parents and get everyone to chill the frack out and just watch the kids.
Oh and it takes FOREVER for them to hand out the gifts from Santa….forever…..
Bring on the nog.
Bwahaha…that brought back memories of last Friday and the twins Christmas recital/party. The rush of parents all getting up close, the heat of 40 guests all crammed in one usually large room, crying kids, yelling kids…guh, it was traumatic for us all.

I’ll raise a nog to you. I don’t have many pictures of kids’ performances. I couldn’t ridicule the pushy ones with the cameras and then be the same one doing the pushing.

We recently switched preschools, and I am mucho relieved that the new one doesn’t do a Christmas concert. It’s so not my thing. Too much parental anguish and hoopla over singing 3-year-olds. Yeesh.
