Crunchy Carpets

Clean socks are a privilege, not a right

Phew, lucky I am not doing NaBloPoMo

cause I would be sucking right now.

It isn’t like I don’t have lots to blog about….ideas and stories are whizzing around…but, I don’t know, maybe it is the weather…I have been feeling more like curling up with a good book or watching tv lately.

Oh and I started crocheting again.

And we got kittens….yes…two ten week old kittens.

Cause we didn’t have ENOUGH mess and chaos and things to care for…..I just can’t stop.

Their shelter names were Holly and Gracie.

Gracie suits her name so we will probably keep it…but we are not overly fond of Holly…it doesn’t really suit her anyway…..and she has big M on her forehead.

Not to mention that all our other pets have Greek names:  Aurora, Phoebe, Callie (Caliope).

We should be keeping the theme I suppose.

We got them from a society called Animals in Distress, run by a very dedicated lady who has a booth in our local Petsmart.  That is where I spotted them.

She rescued them from the Kamloops Animal Shelter, where they would be euthanized, due to their terrible overpopulation of unwanted cats.  So sad.

Apparently they have a vet shortage.  Prince George is apparently really bad too.

SHE pays for the spaying and also ‘insures’ them too.

We haven’t had kittens…so this is really fun.

Gracie has adopted Adam and really only wants to be with him.  Otherwise she hides.  I suppose she will warm up to the rest of us.

Holly is the insane one….bold and brave.   A total attention whore.

Poor Callie is quite confused. Gracie is all friendly with her, while Holly is all growly and mean.

Aurora is 00000000+00000000 ( that was Holly on the keyboard) not bothered and Phoebe is just a little irritated, but hasn’t made a fuss.

I have photos of them on my mom’s camera.

I couldn’t capture them on my little camera as they move too fast.

They are freaking adorable.

So that has been the gooshy part.

We are still having MASSIVE issues with my Grandmother-in-law’s care home.  Apparently the other day the orderly tried to wheel her on her WALKER, despite her protests and sure enough…it broke.  A wheel sheered off and down they both went.  Him on top of her.

Denials and blame all around.j..but we really need to probably find a better place for her.

Needless to say Patrick and his Brother are very agitated by it all.

Then I had to take Adam to the dentist again.  Yeeps.  He does not do well with stuff like that.  A very traumatic hour, despite the excellent dentist and assistant.  AAAND $500 bucks later….PLUS the trip to ToysRus to mollify him.

I look forward to just one week in the year when everything is just routine……yes? maybe?

I will post some photos of the kitty’s as soon as I can.

In the meantime, check out our friend’s photos of his and Patrick’s work on Halloween.
