Poor Adam.
By Wednesday afternoon he had a blazing fever and was in bed with a blinding headache.
His ‘Grad’ was the following morning.
After a night of throwing up and mommy laying with him to supply water and cold compresses…he decided he could make it the at least the ceremony.
You can see his enthusiasm was overwhelming.
What I loved was that he teacher wasn’t even there. His FULL time teacher works Mon, Tues, Wed, Friday…being that the Grad was on a Thursday, she didn’t even bother showing up for that.
Nice.
I started feeling yucky that morning and ended up flat on my back Friday. THANK GOODNESS mom was around to get Caity to preschool so Adam and I could just rest.
Then it got hot.
So now we were dealing with feeling sick AND the heat…the fans were blasting.
We decided that Adam was not well enough to attend a birthday party..which made me feel just awful.
But he really wasn’t up for it.
He rested all Saturday afternoon and because they had been good and I was feeling better, we went to see Wall-E.
The kids have been dying to see it. CH bought them the XBox game the other day and they were going nuts.
Caity even SOUNDS like him.
They loved it. Which is great because compared to the ADHD induding Kung Fu Panda…this is a gentle quiet movie.
And a movie with a message…..but that didn’t seem to put them off…..and I loved a movie with robots that seemed to make fun of PC and MAC and had a bit of Silent Running in it – the little guy has been alone for a very long time with nothing but a video of Hello Dolly and a cockroach to keep him company.
It isn’t as good as Finding Nemo….that movie really is perfect…but this one is not far off.
And it was heaven to be in an air conditioned theatre.
Today it is supposed to be even hotter.
A GOOD mom would be packing everyone of to the pool…but I keep thinking that everyone else will be doing that too.
So…I think I will be digging out all the water toys that WE have and letting the kids go to it right here at home, while I hide inside beside the fans.
What can I say? I am SCOTTISH! We don’t do heat!
Water play in the yard is fun. You ARE a good mom. 🙂
I don’t do heat either.

SO, I guess a trip to the Deep South is out of the question?
I don’t remember where it is, but there is a Scottish store in the French Quarter and everytime I see it I go into Mike Meyers mode and scream, “If it ain’t Scottish, it’s crap!” *shrugs* Makes me laugh.
I am glad to see the review of Wall-E. I am not too sure about it. However, Amber has been complaining about hubs and I date night, so he is giving her a date afternoon with dinner at Sho-Gun (where the last time she was there, all the Asian ladies called her a Princess.) and Wall-E. I am sure they will have a good time.
Glad to see everyone is feeling better.
