Crunchy Carpets

Clean socks are a privilege, not a right

Cue the Sappy Music

May 28, 2008 by Kerry Sauriol 8 Comments

My first born.

My son.

He turns six tomorrow.

(WTF?)

Where has the time gone…

What is that song?  “Where are you going my little one?”

Cue the tears.

Six.   Tall.  Gangly.  Happy.  Eccentric.  Loving.

So loving.   I cannot imagine ever taking for granted or getting tired of his hugs and kisses.

I cannot ever imagine NOT enjoying his sleeping form….the angel at rest.  Or his sneaky snuggles and jamming ICY COLD feet up my butt.

My boy.

I adore him.

Not to say he doesn’t drive me crazy.

Oooooh to the brink and  beyond.

Sometimes I despair.  CH and I look at each other in horror.  What hath we wrought???

This boy….this boy with never ending energy.  This boy who questions and challenges every single thing you say. This boy who can leave you sputtering speechless…gasping for words of authority…SOMETHING that will make him listen.

And then he comes to you…..in the quiet.  An arm curls through mine.  Heart shaped lips kiss my cheek accompanied by a brush of soft insanely long eyelashes.

“You are the best, mom.  I love you.”

I love you Adam.

Happy Birthday

OH! I love that age. My son is turning nine and in some ways I desperately want the clock to STOP TICKING and freeze in time. (But I know it would also drive me bat shiz crazy!)
