Crunchy Carpets

Clean socks are a privilege, not a right

Saturday Morning at the Farmers Market

July 7, 2007 by Kerry Sauriol 3 Comments

We actually go our acts together this am and headed to the Trout Lake Farmers Market.  Fantastic produce and artistic ‘things.’

I picked up some Sun-Dried Tomato Feta and some raspberries and some loose salad greens.  Yum.

The kids got balloon animals.

We rapidly ran out of cash.  Organic is not cheap.

We hit some yard sales too…got a salad bowl set an a new sand bucekt for the kids.

Yesterday we were out at UBC helping out with the child psychology studies…the kids are volunteers for the experiments there.  Then we hit the pool.

It was a busy day..

Her hand is in a bag of popcorn..when I removed it to unbuckle her, her little arm came up and tried to put invisible popcorn in her sleepy mouth.

I wish we had photos of the HUGE water fight that evening.  Picture my Crunchy Husband using the turtle pool as a shield and me wielding  a super soaker behind him,  hollering “Tonight We Dine in HELL!”…..yeah.  And then there was me wrestling one of the dads for our bucket.   They took it as a spoil of war.1

No wonder I hurt today.

I love that picture of Caity. It amazes me how kids can fall asleep. The hand in the popcorn might be comforting, but they way she is sitting would cause me pain for weeks.

And yes, we all wish we had pictures of that water fight. However, I now know how to save myself the next time my husband makes the mistake of trying to shoot anything at me.

Ours in on Wednesday night [4th July] the first since we got back here, so it’ll have to be this Wed instead and you’re right, they are not keep. Just keep chanting ‘organic / local produce/ small footstep on the planet.’
    cheers

Hehe… invisible popcorn… what a great idea! Could you imagine if we could fill up on food like that… ah, how incrdibly easy it would be to lose weight… invisible food, therefore invisible calories … yeh, only in the perfect world… great pictures!
