Nana, bless her, took Adam on his preschool field trip to Grouse Mountain today.  I would have been fine going, but worried about care for Caity and so on.  The quiet allowed me to get some work done, blogging included.
Caity woke up Monday with puffy pink eyes. We were a bit concerned as they coincided with a wack of flea bites all over her too. Those, we figured came from my MIL’s house where their cat is suffering from them. Poor thing. The eyes worried me .
We took Caity to the Children’s ER at Burnaby General and they concluded that she had bites on her eyes. I was dubious as the Children’s Benadryl had done nothing.  Yesterday I decided to get her into my doc who announced that it was some sort of infection and handed me some eye drops. They have gone down already. Thanks Doc!
It could have been from anything I suppose.
Caity cleaned up on Sunday at her other Nana’s house and came home with this…
A giant Barbie palace. It is quiet pretty actually, and so are the dolls that accompanied it.  Caity is very happy.
The mom of Caity’s best buddy made this gorgeous card for her. Isn’t it pretty?
She makes lovely cards. Notice the Dora beside it. She now has a heard of Dora ponies and a stable and horse box. She is a happy little girl.
Oh and I got these!
Please note I will be handing these out to EVERYONE at BlogHer whether you want it or not. I have a lot of them.
Yesterday had lots of good little things. Those cards arrived, and then our passports (gasp) and then I got a stuffed meter for parking when we visited the doctor AND Adam had been really good and hung at the park with Nana and all his friends. Yay.
So everything has come together for my trip to BlogHer.  Hotel booked, flights booked, passport present. I just need a way to pay for it all and we are set!
If we didn’t have the specter of money worries and sick MIL’s, life would be good.
But we will carry on and see what else happens.
Next week I am taking care of our neighbours two boys for 4 days a week.  The oldest is enrolled at the same Kindergarten as Adam and I will be doing the ferrying to and fro of them and Caity and the younger boy in the fall. For July and some of August it is them and me….all day long.
Aieeeee!
But we (I) need the money.  The card is maxed and I gotta pay it off and I gotta help financially more around here. You do what you gotta do.
We also need to budget waaaaay better. Both of us. I am bad but so is he and we need to grow up when it comes to money. CH works really hard with saving and so on and I feel bad for him worrying about all this and juggling things.  I need to worry more and spend less!
So today is pretty quiet here.  Caity is at my feet playing with the Aquadoodle and is stuff full of noodles (hmmmm healthy) The dog is begging me to take her out, and I will…when I am ready. I am feeling mellow.
I can’t tell if I am pms’ing or what.
Sorry about the downs. Hope they are up soon.
Great idea regarding the cards.
Oh, I hear you about the money troubles. This time of my life, financially, is my least favorite. Having a mortgage I can’t really afford, a part time job, a husband as a government employee, two kids to send to preschool, food to buy…
The stress is high, and I so relate. Good luck at blogher. I wish I could join you there!
The palace looks just lovely! 🙂
Poor Caity with those puffy eyes. I had a bothersome eye yesterday. Thank goodness that it was a piece of something or another in there and the eye doctor was able to get it out by flipping up my eyelid! When your eyes hurt…it’s just miserable. I hope she’s better!
cool castle-B would love it-he has a castle thing going on right now lol
love the business cards. i want one!
Great cards! I am now inspired…
