then I will try to not say any more on the subject….for a bit anyway.
BlogHer ’07 is 47 days away.
I am a bit excited about this. For a MULTITUDE of reasons.
1. Meeting all the amazing blogging women out there in person
2. Listening to the many great speakers and participating in all the great seminars they have put together
3. Networking
4. Getting some NEW ideas for career paths and goals
5. Tips and tricks about blogging.
6. (this is really the biggie) – Being somewhere where I won’t need to change a diaper, get a bottle or clean up poo for anyone for 3.5 days.
7. Talk with grown ups without kids screaming at me. (If you are bringing your family…great…won’t trouble me at all……not my family!!!)
8. I booked my flight and got a great deal. And it is nonstop. Whoo hoo. (on my mom’s credit card..but who said I had money!)
9. How can I keep saying this? 4 days with grown ups.
I will miss my family…I have never been away from them. But to have a weekend when I am doing something for ME and not being there for everyone else…..wow. Course I will STILL have this stinking cold…..will it ever end!?
Life has been a bit crazy around here and to get a break like this…wow.
So come on Passport Canada…get that little book in the mail.
Oh and Jessica…I have a feeling I will be the talker babbler on this flight.
One of the happiest flyers ever seen.
Of course I will be crying as my son already bursts into tears when I even MENTION me going on a trip. Sigh.
This boy…he came running down stairs sobbing yesterday (he was watching tv while I made dinner).. “Mom, the angel song is on…the sad one.”
It took me a bit. Then I realized what he was talking about…”I have a Dream” by Abba. A friend of ours did a dvd for us a couple of years ago..a compilation of photos of our kids together. This was the song they used.   We all got a bit teary eyed when we watched it and now Adam cannot hear the song without crying. What a sentimental sweetie.
It is a gorgeous song.
I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I’ll cross the stream – I have a dream
I have a dream, a fantasy
To help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness still another mile
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I’ll cross the stream – I have a dream
I’ll cross the stream – I have a dream
I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I’ll cross the stream – I have a dream
I’ll cross the stream – I have a dream
What are you–some kind of mama’s girl for getting her to cover your flight? Oh wait. I ended up using my mommy’s airmiles. Whatever works, eh? 🙂
It’ll be my first time away from hubby and kids at the same time. Let the party begin!!
Sounds like loads of fun! 🙂
you are going to have a great time Crunch! i’m going away to a conference in September for 4 days-can’t freaking wait lol!
and i still have my cold too uggggggggggggh!
Oh I am so jealous. Have a great time!
I am counting down too! Last night, after four martinis (yep, I said four. And I’m NOT ashamed) I bought my airplane tickets. And SURPRISE SURPRISE I set up my flights to go over on Wed and back on Fri. ACK! fortunately Southwest Airline let me fix the mistake without charging me an arm and a leg. Whew. Anyhow, long story short (right) I will be there getting my GROOVE ON! Can’t wait!
I’m excited and can’t wait to meet you and everyone. While I’ve been away from kids and husband, only on business trips. This is a first that’s not related to work. Whee! I also got a great deal, but have to fly back early Sunday.
If I were seated next to you I’d be all ears! Can’t wait to meet you!!!
