Crunchy Carpets

Clean socks are a privilege, not a right

True Mom Confessions

May 9, 2007 by Kerry Sauriol 8 Comments

Oh My GOD that site is addictive..you could just read and ‘me too’ all freaking day.

Here is mine (well one I will share here!) – I am completely baffled about dealing with siblings and what not.

I am an only child.  I was mostly quiet and biddable.

The fighting over things and nitpicking over who sits where and who gets what is a bit overwhelming for me.

And really…this is only the start.  Caity is not yet three and Adam is just  turning five.  It is going to get worse right?

Even Crunchy Husband has forgotten a lot of it and he and is brother have NEVER gotten along…not since my BIL was born.

I do know that you have to buy them the exact same treats otherwise one will feel cheated even though they got something THEY picked.

I do know that suggesting taking turns means absolutely nothing.

I do know that if you do one game with one of them you have to do it with the other one…..over and over.

But the screaming and fighting……oh man.

I think for Mothers Day I will sit at True Mom Confessions and confess every dark and pathetic sin.

Catharsis right?

Aww! So glad mine are 8 years apart- they still ‘fight’ but not like my sister and I did. We are only 2 years apart and fought like there was no tomorrow! Good luck!

Ohhh Honey… What a time you are having…
I only have one… But sometimes I feel as though I have two kids as my husband insists on taunting my daughter…somehow re-living some misspent youth…

I came across that via StumbleUpon – it seems a bit voyeuristic [but no more so than Post Secret – which I also like!]
As for the siblings thing [ I have two] but hubby is also an only child and finds it quite stressful.
    Cheers

My mom had the same problem. It was really upsetting for her at times. My husband and I both have 3 sibling each so it really isn’t an issue. My problem is having all boys. I find myself being so much more girly sometimes to make up for it, lol.

As for sharing I have found setting the timer seems to work, although it can get pretty irritating as well.

Oh Crunchy! You took the words right out of my mouth! I’m an only too, and it FLOORS me what my two will fight about! Everyone assures me that it’s ‘normal’, but I too can’t relate to their bickering.

The other day they fought over shade!! SHADE! WTF?

You might be saved by the fact that you have one of each sex – with two girls (16 months apart) I think I’m doomed!
