Clean socks are a privilege, not a right

Our Poor Cat

April 1, 2007 by Kerry Sauriol 7 Comments

I think we are in trouble.

They couldn’t get all the poop out of him since he was having problems breathing.

They want to get him to a specialist and do a colonectopy.

They are also worried about his red blood cell count and think he has a heart murmer.

Estimated costs at the start ….$3 to 4 thousand dollars.

We don’t HAVE $4 thousand dollars.

Oh man

I am so sorry. It is a tough decision to make. We had to make one similar long ago. We had a cat with some problems with his urinary tract.

    I am so sorry.

poor baby! I hope everything works out. Our kittie had urinary crystals and we spent a small fortune getting him fixed up. He’s our million dollar kittie, as when you add up the cost of my prized orchids he’s eaten, crystal vases he’s knocked over, surgeries and expensive special food over the past 8 years, he was pretty costly for a stray! lol but we love him!
    Good luck!

I’m so sorry! It doesn’t sound like you have much time either to make a decision or to raise the cash. I feel so lucky to have had only healthy pets and very clear euthanasia decisions. Let us know how it goes.

Oh no, that is always so hard. When pets get sick, and you love them, then you feel like you have to measure your love in money… I’m so sorry you have to go through this.

We went through this with my Edgar a few years back. He had a few things going on, and I knew it would get pricey. So I asked the vet point blank what the QUALITY of life would be if I did all the procedures.

He levelled with me, told me that at most, I’d get a few months, a few painful months, for all that money. I loved my cat too much for that.

But it’s so hard to let go of someone you love. I’m sorry this is happening.
