I think I always stay too long.
We spent the afternoon…from about 2 pm to 5:30 pm at a preschool friends place. Is that too long?
Everyone was having a great time. The mom is amazing. Highly educated and had a very interesting life. I loved talking to her. Her kids are great too.
Oh and what do you bring? I brought juice and some easter cookies.
Oh and do you stay and help clean up even if they say don’t worry about it?
I always worry that I am blowing these situations. I am never sure about making new friends for me or my kids.
But at least everyone had fun and it filled up an entire afternoon AND Adam was really well behaved. Though we are wondering what they were doing in the bathroom while the little girl was showing him her collection of dressed….Adam came out and said WE DID NOT KISS!!!  With a bit too much vehemence.
you take the worries right out of my head. Right there with ya. I guess you just have to be yourself and hope for the best! but man, it can be painful… almost like reliving high school!
I think he doth protest too much.
sounds like everyone had a good time!
How funny! I’m usually the first to leave since my son gets cranky and ready to go! I’ve never stayed long enough to know if you’re supposed to help clean up.
When I hosted a playdate, I told everyone that I’d clean up. That way everything would get put away in it’s proper place…I’m kinda weird like that.
Glad you had a great time!
Such worries are why some moms think one glass of wine during a playdate is a good thing! Sounds to me like you did great, but were a bit too impressed with the hostess’ pedigree, perhaps? So, go back to really important worries, like what to wear at the BlogHer conference!
Oh Man! I just had a playdate for my daughter today… I blogged about it. I don’t think I can ever face this particular mother again… LOL. (I’m still mortified.)
Go on and read my post, and let me know if you’d ever show your face at the playground again after that, hehe.
Sounds like you had a great afternoon! I wouldn’t worry – if you had overstayed, you’d have been able to tell.
Yeah, definitely a little too much protesting about the kissing!
🙂
In our playgroup everyone who hosts cleans up their own home. It would be nice if everyone helped, but its just easier to do it yourself most times.
Something must be wrong with me! I haven’t ever worried about these things!
YEAH! for the kids (and the adults) having a great time!
Heh heh heh…that is too funny! “We did not kiss”
