I am seriously considering going this year.
Despite the distance and cost and the fact that Crunchy Hubs plans on attending the Comic Con in San Diego the weekend before.
I think we BOTH need to do non parental stuff. OR have non parental stuff to look forward too.
And adventure where I can meet cool folks and have some fun.
So yah….seriously thinking about it.
this brings up many questions from me.
have you been to one before? oh and by the way, what goes on at these conferences? if it’s just a lot of mingling and drinking and general good-times, that’s ok; I just want to know! 😉
Will be curious to see who is going…
I have never been…I read all the stuff last year and it sounded fun AND interesting…though sadly the drinking and socializing WITHOUT kids is what seems to be drawing me.
I’m going to Dragon Con this year. I also just let it be know just how big of a geek I am.
We went to the San Diego Comic Con last year, and would be going this year but for the fact that we should have a 3 week old new baby. Have you been to it before? It’s pretty weird and fun–they have a lot of good non-comic art to see and buy.
I say go to the blogher convention. You should learn a few things and the networking is always worthwhile. Plus, you can blog about it if it is terrible!
Whim- Soooo jealous about Dragon Con…we went pre kids and had a blast…it was sooooo cool. If you are a geek.
Nola – We used to go every year to the SD con….dh would be pitching his stuff and I would be geeking out and hitting happy hours.
I haven’t been since we had kids…..mostly for the cost and the fact that we wouldn’t be hitting the Gas Lamp Quarter to party in the evenings….
I miss that stuff
I think you absolutely should go–unless, that is, you are moving into your lovely new home, fenced backyard, nice park nearby. Ok, get the move out of the way in June AND go to the BlogHer conference in July!
Cronz…I am doing visualization and note writing of not what I WISH is going to happen, but WILL happen….
I do this everyday!
I will let you know how it turns out!
Yes, I’m going! I had a lot of fun last year, and Chicago is close enough that I’m bringing the whole family with me (we’ll have a two month old, so I’ll need to at least bring her with me in a sling).
In return, I think we’re going to GenCon for my husband.
I am a diehard Browncoat therefore I am a geek.
