Crunchy Carpets

Clean socks are a privilege, not a right

Reeeeelly hard tag for me right now….

March 22, 2007 by Kerry Sauriol 5 Comments

From my darling Southern Mom of 2 – Here are the rules: list seven songs you are into right now. No matter what they are. They must be songs you are presently enjoying. Then tag seven other people to see what they’re listening to.

Why is it so hard?

Well.  First we don’t have a stereo.  We did, but we never bothered hooking it up properly when we moved here and the kids kept messing with the dials, so I gave up.  Crunchy Hubby listens to tunes on his computer while he works…he is happy.  He is grooving the latest techno groovie what not.

Me?  Well yes, there is more Wiggles and Doodle Bops than Cold Play or The Killers…I also listen to CBC Radio One…talk radio mostly because it is the only way I seem to keep up with current events.
I finally have good speakers for my computer, so my work station is now the music centre for the living room.  The only thing I have downloaded of iTunes so far is the 300 soundtrack ( I am a geek remember!?).

However,  I DO like The Killers and have also discovered Panic in the Disco recently too.  I also confessed that now matter how I hard I try, I can’t NOT like Coldplay.

These days I am digging all the music they play on Grey’s Anatomy too. I will have to raid iTunes for some of that.
So…lessee.

Bizarre Love Triangle – New Order:  yes, I am an 80’s gal and this was my theme song.  Sends a thrill through my heart every time I hear  it.

Mad World – Gary Jules:  The version, the video…..wow.

Eurythmics….anything especially the sadder love ballads. When I am in a funky mood.   I put this on and sing my heart out with Annie.

Ancient Muse – Loreena McKennit:  This is one of her best albums yet.  Haunting, mystical…I love it as background.

I am seriously blanking here.  I mean there are millions of fave’s…specially from the 80’s …but again, I hardly listen to music anymore.
I  guess I am reeeeeeeeelly unhip these days.

And since I couldn’t come up with 7 songs I can’t really tag 7 people.

I will tag two:   Quiltie from Quiltnut Creations and  Laura at Sparkly to Spouse

I listen to talk radio, too. I mainly listen to my music in the car, since I spend 2 hours every day when picking up and dropping off the girl. That is the place you dont change the station, you dont ask to listen to something else. I am the driver and you are safer with me listening to what I want. Makes me wonder how it will be when my kids are teenagers. I guess it will iPods for everyone.

    New Order, cool!

The Tears For Fears original of Mad World is better, although the vids a bit crap.
